    UPDATE

I really complained about this place when traveling through once before, gave them one star, (See below.). I felt like it's my responsibility, after such a scathing review to come back and see if anything's changed.

I'm glad to report it has, I've been back twice now, and was very pleased to see that the staff was very careful, both trips back to be very careful with cleanliness, and glove management, in happy to report, in changing my rating to five stars!

    (PREVIOUS REVIEW)

Sick and disgusting, as I walked through the line, the kids who worked here were using their gloves to protect them from the food, not the food from them. One kid was cleaning the counters, and the floors, then emmediatly jumped right in and started serving food again with the same gloves.  The next kid in line picked up the garbage can, the turned around, grabbed tacos off the grill and started serving food again; disgusting! I turned to my girlfriend and said, we'll be lucky if we don't get really sick, these people are horribly disgusting!

Avoid at all cost, I'll never come back!

    UPDATE

I received this very kind response from Costa Vida, in response to my review. (If you choose to visit, watch close, see if anything changes.)

    Hello LT,

Thank you for taking the time to post about your experience. I am so sorry to hear our employees were not following protocol.

I will be sending your review to the Restaurant General Manger along with our District Manager. We will review our glove policy with our employees and take steps to ensure this does not happen again.

I do hope in the future you give us a second chance to serve you amazing good!

    Happy travels!
    Best, Christa

Could the lady in charge be any more ornery? I guess we made a mistake of doing an online order and they are too busy to make it? This is my least favorite Costa Vita location. Everyone who works here is on edge because they are always too busy.

First time here but the service and food were great. Clean and fresh,  worth a visit. I had the 2 enchilada plate with black beans and cilantro lime rice, will definitely be back.

Did we need a second Cafe Rio? I loved Cafe Rio when I first ate there more than a decade ago in UT. Then they opened one in WA and as is often the case, the WA version was a hollow shell of the original and I quickly grew tired of it. My wife never had Cafe Rio until they opened in WA and that was her whole frame of reference for it. She loved it and I was there going, "but have you tried the UT version?" She was the one to stumble upon Costa Vida during a subsequent trip to UT and of course she loved it as well. I finally got around to trying it during this visit and unfortunately, even though I was in UT, Costa Vida ended up resembling Cafe Rio in WA far more than Cafe Rio in UT. It's not that it's bad, it's just that it's nothing special. That first trip to Cafe Rio in Bountiful was freaking special and I'm always happy to eat there when I visit UT. The flavors popped, the service was great, and the prices were reasonable. The service was fine here, the prices were on the higher side but the flavors did not pop. I might as well have just been at Cafe Rio at the Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, WA. I probably won't be back.

Love this place but this particular location was not very great. They were out of the sweet pork . Sad day we've been traveling all day. Then we got to the register girl and she was #rude definitely was having a good day so hope she's doing good now but ummm we definitely did not tip because of that. And then when I was eating my quesadilla the cheese wasn't melted all the was and it was kind gross. Like had to take it out. But the dressing and the rice were 10/10
